The foundation of your shelving system

Discover our R1 Shelf Bundle – the modular solution for additional storage space. The bundle consists of five R1 Cubes and one R1 Cap.
The R1 Shelf Bundle is perfect as a shelf in the living room or bedroom and offers plenty of space for your books, records, or whatever you hold dear! You can also convert your R1 Shelf Bundle at any time and use it as a sideboard, lowboard, or highboard.

Material & care

Material: FSC®-certified 16 mm MDF in cabinetmaker quality, edges in 100% ash.

Surface: The melamine coating gives a calm, single-colour look and is resistant to stains. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth; no abrasive cleaners.

Safe: All finishes, adhesives and oils are non-toxic and natural, so the R1 is right at home in a child's room too. Production is 95% offcut-optimised, leaving hardly any waste.

Certifications

FSC®-certified: wood from responsibly managed forests.
German Design Award: recognised for design and function.

Your questions about the R1

Yes. The magnets align everything perfectly and lock securely into place. The shelf stands firm, even fully loaded with books or records.

Yes, we guarantee it. R1 grows with you: simply order more modules and reconfigure without tools, from lowboard to room divider. All Kiyo products remain compatible with each other, permanently.

No. Unpack, click into place, done. Rebuilding later takes minutes instead of hours.

Yes. The cubes are sturdy and hold over 50 kg per compartment. That also applies to several rows stacked on top of each other. Everyday loads such as books, folders, records or use as a stool are no problem.

On a level floor the shelf stands very stable. From a height of 4 rows we recommend fitting an anti-tip bracket to the wall.

Perfect simplicity

From the moment I opened the boxes, I could tell that KIYO truly cares about its products and customers. Everything was packaged with incredible care, which immediately gave me a good feeling about what I purchased. I'm also very happy with the color gradient I chose. It looks even better in person and achieves a clean, modern aesthetic. I am amazed at the craftsmanship, the simplicity, and design, all of which made the investment feel absolutely worthwhile. This won't be my last purchase from KIYO. I look forward to adding more pieces to my collection.
